The Iraq Economic Development Group recognises the immense talent of the Iraqi people as well as the considerable needs of Iraqi society. The group was founded with two goals in mind- to dedicate its resources to the economic development of Iraq and to honor the dignity of the Iraqi people by providing them the opportunity to enjoy financial security- Iraq for Iraqis. From these goals came IEDG’s mission to be the premier economic development force in Iraq.

IEDG was developed to fill an extraordinary vacuum in economic and business development capacity inside Iraq. IEDG realized that Iraq could not develop without extraordinary international investment. Timelines were short; political realities were stark; and Iraq needed a group of Iraqi patriots and professionals with the interests of the Iraqi people at heart. To that end IEDG was informally founded in September of 2005 in Baghdad. This organisation was officially registered and incorporated on February 20, 2006.

IEDG is an international company, dedicated to the Iraqi people. It is apolitical and non-sectarian by design to allow it to perform its responsibilities and achieve its mission for all Iraqis at any time and any place. IEDG will support any government or private activity that will provide equal opportunity to all Iraqis.
